La Vaca is a Latin American steak house and grill in Broomhill, Sheffield. We have brought the essence of Chile's and Argentina's legendary steak restaurants to the UK.

Our owner, Rodrigo Clarke, is from Los Andes — a city in the Chilean Andes about fifty miles north of Santiago. His wife Gloria is from Sheffield. Not many years before La Vaca opened its doors, Rodrigo was washing dishes in someone else's kitchen.

We use only the best quality beef and cook it over an open charcoal grill, as is the way in South America. On arrival you receive complimentary bread and pebre — a spicy, fresh tomato salsa from Chile. We have tried to source mainly Argentinean and Chilean wines for our wine list to give your steak that extra air of authenticity. We have even visited some of the vineyards personally to assure we are offering the best wines at great value.

One thing here is native · the cows

All our beef comes from local, Yorkshire farms, bought through John Crawshaw's here in Sheffield. After all, beef breeds in Chile and Argentina are mainly Hereford and Angus — so why import when we have the originals, fresh on our doorstep?

We like to keep the atmosphere true to its roots, playing mainly Latin American music, and many of our waiting and kitchen staff are Hispanic. As they say, it feels like a bit of home away from home. We hope you enjoy your visit to La Vaca.
